In-cabin transport is the only method of pet travel provided by Allegiant Air. The animal must fit comfortably in a carrier (the Customer Service Agent will determine if there is adequate room in the carrier) and under the seat in front of you. Allegiant Air is popular among budget travelers and owners of small pets, though a fee is imposed when traveling with a pet. There is no stated limit to the number of animals allowed in the cabin on each flight, but the airline may limit the reservations based on available space.

Allegiant Air is committed to accommodating passengers and pets in the cabin but also prioritizes the safety and comfort of all other passengers. To make sure you can successfully fly with a pet in the cabin with Allegiant, here is the information you need.

Are there any additional carrier requirements?
The carrier can be no larger than 19”L x 16”W x 9”H. No more than two pets are permitted per carrier, but the animals must be able to stand and turn inside the container. Allegiant highly recommends traveling with a soft-sided carrier—it will fit more easily under the seat. Additionally, the container must be FAA approved, leak-proof, and well-ventilated The Customer Service Agent will determine if there is adequate room in the carrier. The pet must remain completely inside the carrier and under the seat directly in front of you at all times.

Your pet container is not included in the carry-on baggage limitations, and each traveler may only have one carrier.

Are there any age restrictions for carry-on pets?
Traveling dogs and cats must be older than 12 weeks to fly. We recommend bringing proof of required vaccinations as a precaution and to prove the animal’s age if it is called into question. Additionally, the passenger traveling with the pet must be at least 15 years old.

Are there other Allegiant Air pet policies and travel restrictions?
The airline does not require a health certificate for pets traveling in the cabin. However, Allegiant assumes no liability for the health or well-being of carry-on pets. Additionally, while both at the airport and on the aircraft, your pet must remain completely within the carrier.

Though there is no stated limit for the number of animals on each flight, there may not be more than two pet carriers per row—one on each side.
