Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA) Service Animal Policies

Assistance animals are welcome to travel with passengers who have disabilities. Certain exemptions are provided to these animals, but some rules and restrictions still apply. To determine if your dog qualifies to be certified as a Psychiatric Service Dog and can be accepted as such for air travel, you can visit Pettable’s PSD service.

Omaha Pet Relief Areas

There are two Omaha Airfield pet relief areas available for animals to use. They are located at the north and south ends of the Terminal, and they are clearly marked with signs. Both areas are outside and in pre-security areas. Omaha Eppley Airfield pet policy requires that pet parents will need to exit the airport and re-enter through security. This can be a time-consuming process, especially for owners needing pet relief during layovers or just before flights. If you plan to use an OMA pet relief area, plan your time accordingly.

What to Expect from the Omaha Eppley Pet Policy

No matter where your travels take you, packing is an essential part of the journey. Don’t let packing for your pet cause you any additional stress. Bringing just the essentials can save you space and time. Daily essentials, like a leash, a spare plastic pet waste bag (or two), and maybe a water bowl will take you far. Remember that heavy and bulky items should go into checked baggage, along with toys and blankets. The OMA pet policy requires that non-service animals remain in their carriers while in the airport, so you won’t get a lot of use out of these kinds of items while you’re traveling. Still, it’s best to pack them away until you reach your final destination.

More About the OMA Pet Policy

Omaha Eppley Airfield is only a medium-sized airport, but knowing what to expect can save you a lot of time. When passing through security, be sure to listen to all the TSA agent’s requests so that you and your pet can get through quickly. When it’s your turn to be cleared, take your pet out of the carrier, and either hold him or walk him on a leash through the metal detectors. Your bags and pet carrier will need to pass through the x-ray scanning machine. The OMA pet policy states that, while you’re in the airport, pets should stay inside of their carriers. Service animals can be on a leash.
