Frontier Airlines pet policy requires relatively little of the pet owner compared to other airlines. Instead, Frontier puts the onus on pet owners to find and complete required documentation for the state or country they plan to visit. Frontier does not require a health certificate for flights within the U.S., but you are responsible for complying with the state requirements of your destination.

Although Frontier accepts a range of on-board pets, these animals are only allowed to travel in the cabin. Frontier pet policy does not allow animals to fly as checked baggage or as air cargo. However, you do need to check in your pet and carry-on pet kennel at the ticketing counter. The carry-on pet kennel must fit under the seat in front of you. Read on to find out what else you need to know about Frontier Airline pet policies.

  • Flying with Pets in the CabinFrontier allows dogs, cats, and other domesticated animals to travel in the cabin. However, the size of your pet can be a limitation because pets are restricted to the cabin. Be sure to learn about all the pet and carrier requirements that apply to Frontier Airline flights before finalizing your travel plans.  You are responsible for paying a one-way, directional charge during booking.
  • Service Animal PoliciesFrontier also welcomes certified service animals and passengers with disabilities who travel with an assistance animal at their side. Frontier does not allow emotional support animals to travel as service animals. Find more information about the airline’s service animal policies. To determine if your dog qualifies to be certified as a Psychiatric Service Dog and can be accepted as such on Frontier Airline, you can visit Pettable’s PSD service.

Other Frontier Airlines Pet Policies and Programs

As a passenger traveling with a pet, you are eligible for Frontier’s Families First program. You will receive a pet-friendly, preassigned seat, and you will be allowed to board early. We recommend taking advantage of early boarding, so that you and your pet can get safely and comfortably situated before the main boarding process begins.
